Alexandra Pohl co-founded Dark Ice and is Chief Executive Officer of Dark Ice Global. She chairs each investment committee.

For more than seven years she applied lean and Toyota Production System methods to complex multi-site operations at Toyota and Danfoss.

Chief of Staff
One steady operating rhythm.
Suebina Wong is Chief of Staff at Dark Ice Global, the parent company of Dark Ice Ventures, Dark Ice Management, and Dark Ice Capital. Working alongside Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, she keeps the holding company’s agenda moving: setting the governance calendar, preparing leadership for the decisions that sit at the parent level, and making sure those decisions reach each operating company clearly and on time.
Service
The role suits the way she has always worked. For twelve years Suebina served in the United States Intelligence Community, six of them on active duty in the U.S. Army as a Senior SIGINT Geospatial Analyst and mission team lead. Her work supported Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, Operation Enduring Freedom, and the Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan, turning fragmented, multi-source information into plans that could be acted on under pressure. She later trained more than one thousand intelligence professionals across the U.S. Government in the same craft.
Real estate
In the private sector, she was ranked among the top real estate agents in the nation for five straight years, leading acquisitions, market entry, and asset repositioning in the country’s most competitive metropolitan markets.
Dark Ice Global
At Dark Ice Global she brings both experiences to a single job: giving a family of companies one steady operating rhythm, and linking the Office of the CEO with the leaders of Dark Ice Ventures, Dark Ice Management, and Dark Ice Capital.
Head of Investor Relations
One clear account of the parent.
McCory King is Head of Investor Relations at Dark Ice Global, the parent company of Dark Ice Ventures, Dark Ice Management, and Dark Ice Capital. Reporting to William Pohl III, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, and working alongside Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, he is a senior representative of Dark Ice to limited partners, family offices, institutional allocators, and the strategic partners who look at the family of companies as a whole.
The role
Investors who back a group, rather than a single fund, want to see how the pieces fit: who owns what, how decisions are governed, and how risk is managed from the top. McCory’s work at Dark Ice Global is to answer those questions the same way every time, so that each company’s investor conversations rest on one clear account of the parent behind them.
Experience
He brings more than 20 years of experience spanning financial services, strategic operations, risk management, technology, and executive stakeholder engagement. At Bank of America he advised Fortune 500 companies and state government clients on treasury services. As a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, he led complex, high-consequence initiatives that demanded discretion, sound judgment, and steady communication with senior leaders. Colleagues and investors know him for executive presence, credibility, and a habit of following through.
Education
McCory holds a Master of Science in Intelligence Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Old Dominion University.
Head of Research
One standard of evidence.
Joe Tobin is Head of Research at Dark Ice Global, the parent company of Dark Ice Ventures, Dark Ice Management and Dark Ice Capital. He reports to William Pohl III, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, and works alongside Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, who chairs the investment committees his work supports.
The role
Across the group, Joe holds every investment case to one standard of evidence. Whether the proposal is a new venture vertical or an acquisition by a platform company, it has to rest on market data, return math, and sources anyone can check. He builds the research frameworks, screening tools, and data templates the Dark Ice companies share, so each committee sees analysis of the same quality no matter which company brings the deal.
Experience
That standard was formed in the laboratory. Joe spent ten years as a biotechnology subject matter expert in gene and cell therapy protein purification. As a lead manufacturer and department supervisor, he guided his team through hard technical problems with data-backed decisions, and his department oversaw the development and distribution of more than 20 drug molecules for critically ill patients. For 12 years he has also been part of the national sports entertainment circuit, producing and directing live events across the country and abroad and earning recurring roles on national television.
Education
Joe graduated with honors from Towson University in 2015 with a degree in biochemistry. Outside the office he keeps a strict bodybuilding and nutrition routine, paddleboards, and makes epoxy resin art.
Office Manager
One front door for the group.
Julia Tripline is Office Manager at Dark Ice Global, the parent company of Dark Ice Ventures, Dark Ice Management and Dark Ice Capital. She runs the office and the front desk and assists the company’s two co-founders: William Pohl III, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, to whom she reports, and Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer.
The role
For anyone who visits or calls the group, Julia is usually the first person they meet. She greets guests and investors, answers the main line, handles mail and deliveries, and keeps the front office ready for the day’s meetings. Behind the scenes, she manages both leaders’ schedules, travel, and expense reports, working alongside the Chief of Staff so that meetings across the Dark Ice companies start on time with everything in place.
Experience
Her job is to anticipate what leadership will need before they ask for it, a skill she developed as an Air Force veteran with more than eight years of experience across executive aviation, global operations, program management, and organizational leadership. She held positions of significant trust, supporting senior national and military leadership during domestic and international operations. Those assignments placed her in sensitive settings that called for discretion, sound judgment, adaptability, and precision, and they required her to coordinate across organizations and stay effective under pressure.
Leadership
Julia also served in instructional and leadership roles, where she managed training and qualification programs for hundreds of personnel. She worked with senior Air Force leadership on workforce development, organizational improvements, and the creation of a new aviation career field, translating complex operational requirements into practical solutions. At Dark Ice Global, she applies that same practical approach to the systems that keep the parent company’s office organized: facilities, vendors, supplies, equipment, and onboarding for new team members.
Education
Julia holds a Bachelor of Science in Cultural Anthropology and an Associate of Science in Space Technology, and she is pursuing a Master of Science in Intelligence Management. Originally from Oregon, she enjoys traveling, running, time outdoors, and baking, and she shares her home with her two dogs.
